I've been fascinated by this adobe structure since I photographed it in 1989. The first painting I ever sold was of this Chapel, and I have painted it numerous times, often experimenting with some newly learned watercolor technique. This painting, done in 2008, uses a checkerboard underpainting learned in a Judi Betts workshop.
